WEEK 2: Little By Little

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a smoother time getting back into the school flow of life again. It has been a bit of a struggle for me getting back into the school flow after winter break has been a bit like trying to jump back into a fast-moving river. As I reflect on my academic journey thus far, I must choose a banging project topic. Both biofuels and GMOs offer a chance to make a meaningful contribution to my understanding of scientific advancements. Biofuels could be the key to a more sustainable and eco-friendly future, while GMOs hold the promise of revolutionizing agriculture and medicine. The decision, however, is not just about the topics themselves but also about my interest and curiosity. As I weigh the pros and cons of each option, I find myself drawn to the potential impact of both biofuels and GMOs on our world. It's a tough choice, but I believe that the key lies in exploring what truly resonates with me and aligns with my academic and personal interests and whatever Josh thinks matters. I am positive I will have a good result regardless of what my topic choice will be.

WEEK 6: Plants Are Rad

 Hello everyone! This week has been an interesting week, to say the least, and it was jam-packed with adventure to write novel times three. I started working on my project with Josh this week and we are off to a wonderful start. I had no clue what flower to choose when Josh asked "what plant will you be studying?" Until one morning I walked to the lab and a hummingbird flew right in front of my face and starts feeding from the flower below as known as a Lantana. The real answer to Josh's question is the plant choose me in the end. I will be looking at aloe too which is kinda cool to me too because I use aloe for almost everything my skin, hair, scars, etc. so it will be nice to see what I discover. Now, that I am working for hands on my project I am more excited about it as time progresses and hope to find some captivating discoveries about Lantanas and aloe vera.

WEEK 2: Shake It Up

  Good day, my fellow humans. The first week is long over and I can say I already can tell this semester is going to fly right by me. I am pleased with most of all my classes however my art class just might be the death of me. On a positive note, I have a strong idea of what I want to do for my project however I am still researching exactly what I am going to focus on. I came to the conclusion that cloning bacteria or GMOs is a glow-in-the-dark version. I have not exactly figured out if that is the angle I want to commit to so I am still in the thinking process but I have a start. However, I know exactly what I am not doing: working with plants of any kind. I just feel like I need some excitement in my life and plants do not do that for me but I still love them as decorations around the home.  Here is a photo of the Venus Fly Trap babies Josh and I tried to grow last semester but ended in sadness because it takes months for this plant to grow.

WEEK #3: Drop or Juggle

The past few weeks have come and gone by like a whirlwind to put it lightly. I just started my public speaking class this week... I am excited to see how this class will go since it is online so this should be interesting to say the less. It is already week three which has me lost for words because where did the time go? I am still in the process of finding out what my research topic will be but each week I have narrowed down my search to 5 choices. By next week I plan on having my top 2 and once I meet with Josh I can have a better idea of which one suits me better. I am giddier about landing an internship with a company or program that aligns with my final career goals.
