WEEK 4: Champs Are Here

Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed the thrilling Super Bowl weekend as much as I did. Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to work down at the stadium during the big game, and let me tell you, it was an experience of a lifetime! From the electrifying atmosphere to the behind-the-scenes hustle and bustle, being part of such a monumental event left me in awe.As the confetti settled and the stadium lights dimmed, it was back to the books and the familiar routine of school. However, this semester promises to be just as exhilarating as the Super Bowl weekend. I've chosen to dive deep into the fascinating world of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) for my research project.My plan is to build on the foundation laid in the previous semester, leveraging the knowledge gained to delve deeper into the intricate details of GMOs. Exploring the potential applications in agriculture, medicine, and beyond is a path I'm eager to tread. From understanding the underlying science to examining the ethical considerations, I aim to paint a comprehensive picture of this cutting-edge field.As I embark on this GMO research journey, I invite you all to join me in this intellectual exploration. WEEK 6: Plants Are Rad

 Hello everyone! This week has been an interesting week, to say the least, and it was jam-packed with adventure to write novel times three. I started working on my project with Josh this week and we are off to a wonderful start. I had no clue what flower to choose when Josh asked "what plant will you be studying?" Until one morning I walked to the lab and a hummingbird flew right in front of my face and starts feeding from the flower below as known as a Lantana. The real answer to Josh's question is the plant choose me in the end. I will be looking at aloe too which is kinda cool to me too because I use aloe for almost everything my skin, hair, scars, etc. so it will be nice to see what I discover. Now, that I am working for hands on my project I am more excited about it as time progresses and hope to find some captivating discoveries about Lantanas and aloe vera.

WEEK 2: Shake It Up

  Good day, my fellow humans. The first week is long over and I can say I already can tell this semester is going to fly right by me. I am pleased with most of all my classes however my art class just might be the death of me. On a positive note, I have a strong idea of what I want to do for my project however I am still researching exactly what I am going to focus on. I came to the conclusion that cloning bacteria or GMOs is a glow-in-the-dark version. I have not exactly figured out if that is the angle I want to commit to so I am still in the thinking process but I have a start. However, I know exactly what I am not doing: working with plants of any kind. I just feel like I need some excitement in my life and plants do not do that for me but I still love them as decorations around the home.  Here is a photo of the Venus Fly Trap babies Josh and I tried to grow last semester but ended in sadness because it takes months for this plant to grow.

WEEK #3: Drop or Juggle

The past few weeks have come and gone by like a whirlwind to put it lightly. I just started my public speaking class this week... I am excited to see how this class will go since it is online so this should be interesting to say the less. It is already week three which has me lost for words because where did the time go? I am still in the process of finding out what my research topic will be but each week I have narrowed down my search to 5 choices. By next week I plan on having my top 2 and once I meet with Josh I can have a better idea of which one suits me better. I am giddier about landing an internship with a company or program that aligns with my final career goals.
